The Easy Walking Store is the centre for the (modern) walker in the heart of Amsterdam.
All products developed by Hi-Tec over the last 42 years are showcased in the store, for example the Squash Classic (1974), Silver Shadow (1978) and the Badwater (1984). You can feel the brand’s rich history throughout the whole store.
The store has a modern interior with in the back a beautiful coffee bar overlooking the Vondelpark, where people can enjoy a cup of coffee, a healthy snack or a sandwich.
You are provided with the best advice. The staff uses the RS Footscan to measure people’s feet and pressure points in order to give the best advice in footwear and insoles.
The long walk to freedom
An eye catcher in the store is the 'walking mannequin’ displayed in the window. Last but not least are the original blue and white Hi-Tec sneakers that Nelson Mandela wore after his imprisonment on Robben Island: The Long Walk To Freedom. This exclusive pair of history sneakers are on display at the Hi-Tec Easy Walking store.
Frank Van Wezel: “We see that the popularity of hiking is increasing among younger people and the awareness of consumers about the many benefits of the sport is increasing too. What was missing was a place where you can purchase the right equipment, get tailor-made advice and get inspired by enjoying the outdoors. We have created that place with the opening of The Easy Walking Store. "
The Easy Walking Store is located next to the Vondelpark in central Amsterdam. There is no better starting point in Amsterdam to test your new Hi-Tec gear then right next to the Vondelpark.
